![]() ![]() Nobody would have known what happened in the tunnels if it wasn't for the reappearance of the journal of the monk tonsure, fifty years later. Manzikert reappears the next day, alone, enucleated and psychologically broken. At the end of the massacre, Manzikert, a handful of soldiers and his counsellor, a monk called Tonsure, enter in a tunnel leading to the underground part of Cinsorium. ![]() ![]() Despite being peaceful, they were exterminated by the first sovereign of Ambergris, Manzikert I. Before the rise of the human metropolis, there was at its location a city called Cinsorium and inhabited by "graycaps", a species of fungal humanoids. The text is presented as the work of the historian Duncan Hurle about the foundation and the first years of the city of Ambergris. I've just finished reading An Early History of Ambergris, one of the texts of The City of Saints and Madmen, and its content announces important elements of Annihilation already. ![]()
